With luxury travel as its inspiration, the Maybank Private Banking suite in Singapore features an imaginative design concept beyond the ordinary.
Diverting away from a conventional design approach, the Maybank Private Banking suite in Singapore infuses a breath of fresh air to banking spaces with its travel-inspired interior concept. The entire floor, designed with wealthy, well-travelled clients in mind, is divided into imaginative zones, which include themes like an airport lounge, luxury cruise, East Asian train, hot air balloon, yacht, limousine, and a private jet setting.
The vibrant concept starts at the entrance foyer designed to simulate an exclusive airport lounge. As the motorised door opens, visitors arrive at a cosy lounge area adorned with a custom-made carpet showcasing the Southeast Asia map. Easy chairs placed next to the windows provide guests with spectacular views of the Esplanade amid the seascape as they sit down for casual discussions or coffee breaks. On one of the feature walls, triangular gold-tinted mirror panels that mimic the Esplanade’s iconic durian spikes create a stunning visual point of interest within the space.
The lounge leads towards different thematic meeting rooms, each with its own whimsical interior features. The boardroom, which resembles a private jet interior, evokes the experience of having meetings high above the sky while the meeting room next to the lounge is beautifully done up like a luxury cruise ship. In another meeting space, a hot air balloon theme is achieved using different shapes of bubble lights, colourful carpeting, and a swing chair.
Thematic aesthetics aside, the meeting rooms are also equipped with acoustic and privacy features. For instance, the usage of gypsum partition and internal rock wool as well as absorption panels ensure better sound control. The glass panels and doors are also designed with an electronic frosting film solution, whereby, with the push of a button, the glass will be fully opaque to offer complete privacy.
Behind the signage wall are two mid-sized meeting rooms and a hallway leading to the breakout area and pantry/cafe. Designed with heavy-duty operable walls, the cafe and meeting rooms can be opened up and combined to form a larger space for town hall meetings or other office events.
Like the boardroom, these meeting rooms also come with full acoustic treatment, including soundproof glass, sound absorption panels, and acoustic return ducting for the air-conditioning system. Adjacent to the meeting rooms at the side corridor, two phone booths designed with acoustic features offer employees a conducive space for focused work or private conference calls.
